When I moved to Brightwood Trails I never thought that Poop 'n Scoop wasn't a law.  Now I know better as I just read in the News and Observer that it is now a crime not to scoop your pets poop.  The Durham Board of County Commissioners officially adopted a regulation called "Removal of Canine Waste".

Now if you are on public property, public right of way, or any private property without the owners permission you must scoop the poop from the pooch.  I always take care of mine but I know there are plenty of others that do not so hopefully this will spur them on to scoop the poop expecially in Brightwood Trails.
